Last Friday, dwg. participated in the latest installment of our firm’s Strategic Planning. Building upon our annual planning meetings, and on the 2017 Principal’s Retreat, last week’s Strategic Planning Session allowed the staff an opportunity to prioritize updates to internal operations and procedures.
The morning began at Native Hostel, where the staff worked with a facilitator to reflect on the past several months and to strategize and explore ways to improve and grow our firm internally. Participants broke up into small groups to discuss different areas of the organization including: tools and technology, the studio environment, day to day operations, graphic styles and more. The group then prioritized a series of studio operating experiments that will be applied and tested over the next 12 months.
After a lunch break, the team reconvened at the greenbelt, where we hiked to Sculpture Falls and participated in two creative challenges: rock stacking and an Andy Goldsworthy-inspired found art challenge. The opportunity to get outside of the office, away from screens, be creative and engage with nature and each other was truly refreshing.
The day concluded at ABGB where our team, joined by our partners and kids, enjoyed a family dinner of what else? Pizza and beer.
The next strategy meeting is scheduled for late January.
