Daniel Woodroffe has joined the Downtown Austin Alliance Board of Directors, just as the organization has launched their new Downtown Austin Vision. Daniel was previously a member of the Board, where he served as the Chair of the Congress Avenue WOW Committee and is excited to rejoin at such an exciting time for the organization and support bringing the Downtown Austin Vision to life. He also served as Co-Chair of the Capital Campaign for the Republic Square Park Renovation.
“I am thrilled to be nominated and approved to rejoin the Board of Directors for the DAA,” Woodroffe said. “Leveraging the successful completion of Republic Square and the ongoing agenda of pocket parks on Congress Avenue, the new Downtown Austin Vision is right in sync with dwg.’s values. The Vision promotes social, environmental and economic excellence and focuses on the resiliency of downtown as a thriving and welcoming place offering dynamic open space, vibrant and walkable neighborhoods, innovative urban transportation and districts that authentically reflect the culture and character of Austin. Onwards and upwards…” Woodroffe said.
The Downtown Austin Vision is a forward-looking framework that outlines the community’s collective vision of downtown Austin’s future and identifies long-term strategic priorities for making that vision a reality. It is organized around four priority areas:
The Vision instills a broad sense of ownership and urgency around shaping the next era of downtown and provides everyone a clear and direct compass to point downtown in the right direction.
Moving forward, the Downtown Alliance is committing the leadership and perseverance to bring the Downtown Austin Vision to life. The Vision will guide and shape the DAA’s work for years to come.
