Talk about a glow-up! After years of renovation, Waterloo Park finally debuted last summer to become one of the city’s essential gathering hubs — and the editors of Austin Monthly took note. Kudos to Waterloo Park for winning the Austin Monthly's Best of ATX 2022: Editors' Choice for Park Renovation Award. The picturesque new grounds feature the addition of 500 trees and 90,000 plants from 170 different species, plus a darling play space for kids that includes a climbable Log Jam structure and a granite slide. 

Waterloo Park marks the first phase of the 35-acre Waterloo Greenway park system to open. Once complete, the park will stretch from 15th Street to Lady Bird Lake along a restored Waller Creek. Construction on the second phase of the project, The Confluence, will begin later this year.
