Raised in the sunshine of the Florida Gulf Coast, Aaron went hunting for snow as an undergrad and studied Radio, TV & Film at Northwestern University just outside Chicago. Lured by the dramatic geography of the west, he moved to Los Angeles and worked for Disney in online game production while filling weekends with urban hikes and exploration. After discovering the field of landscape architecture and a having a work stint at the urban forestry non-profit, Tree People, Aaron headed up the coast to UC Berkeley where he received his MLA. Seeking new life challenges, and less fog, he migrated to Austin, Texas in 2008 and has been helping to shape public and private landscapes throughout the region ever since.
Having lived and practiced in the water-challenged states of Texas and California, Aaron has a strong appreciation for this important resource. This manifests itself in his design through creative water and drainage expressions as well as a thoughtful approach to specifying climatically appropriate vegetation. Aaron has also published articles and given presentations on diverse topics including urban cemeteries and the integration of smart phone technology into public spaces.
Aaron is registered landscape architect #2780 in the state of Texas. He is also LEED BD+C certified and completed Construction Documents Technology certification through CSI.
When not completing continuing education for the afore mentioned certifications, Aaron can be found building things in his yard. He also enjoys a good science fiction book, especially with a handcrafted cocktail.
